7. Shirtless encounter

Meera's POV:-

As I climbed the stairs, I couldn't shake off the memory of my recent blunders. He must be thinking I'm the clumsiest person alive.

With each step, I pondered how to call him without actually calling him.

"Shut your mouth and just go call him," I chided myself silently. Finally reaching the door, I took a deep breath and prepared to face him.

As I entered the room, I scanned the space, but he was nowhere to be seen. Where could he have gone? Has he left already?

Lost in my thoughts, I was startled when the washroom door clicked open, and he emerged.......................Shirtless

......Hot. His figure was like a Greek god's, chiseled in marble, sculpted to perfection, looking no less than a fictional character from 'those novels' I sometimes sneak a peek at.

I couldn't help but admire how incredibly attractive he looked.

"Enjoying the view, aren't we?" he said, bringing me back to reality

Only to make me realise that I had been shamelessly gawking at him the whole time.

AM I FREAKING MAD??

I quickly turned away, stuttering out my apologies. "I'm - I'm sorry... I thought... You were not here... sorry sorry... I'll get going..."

As I attempted to leave, he caught my hand and pulled me towards the wall, trapping me between his arms.

As he caged me between his arms, I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, echoing in the silence of the room. His presence was overwhelming, his scent intoxicating, and his eyes... oh, his eyes held an intensity that sent shivers down my spine.

"Caught red-handed, I see," he teased, his breath warm against my ear.

I stammered out a feeble apology, my eyes darting away from his captivating gaze.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude.."

His gaze lingering on mine.

"No need" he said, his voice low and husky.

"After all, who can resist admiring such beauty?"

Is he drunk?

"S-Sorry," I again stuttered, my voice barely above a whisper.

"I'll knock next time before barging into the room."

He chuckled softly, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

"Why? Aren't you my wife, huh?" he again teased, his tone playful.

"This is your house, your room, and no one comes knocking in their own room, I guess?"

My cheeks flushing crimson as I struggled to find a response.

"Will you promise me one thing? " he asked, his voice soft but earnest.

"Wh...what?" I asked.

"Next time, if you want to admire the view, just let me know. I'd hate for you to miss out on anything." he said

He's really drunk. I think.

Just as I was about to muster a response, the door creaked open, and his mother's voice came.

"Aaryansh, Meera, I wanted to..." she began, her sentence trailing off as she stepped into the room, only to freeze in shock at the sight before her.

Him and I quickly sprang apart, our faces turning the color of ripe tomatoes as we tried to compose ourselves. His mother stood there, eyes wide and mouth agape, clearly caught off guard by the unexpected scene unfolding before her.

"Um, Mom, it's not what it looks like," he stammered, his attempt at explanation only making the situation more awkward.

I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks as I struggled to find the right words. "Yes, we were just... uh... discussing... um..." I trailed off, unable to come up with a plausible excuse for our compromising position.

She just simply stood there , her expression a mix of disbelief and amusement.

"Mom, it's not what it seems," he began, his voice laced with mock seriousness. "You see, she was just teaching me some... um... advanced yoga techniques. Yes, that's it! It's all part of our fitness regimen."

Her eyebrows shot up in disbelief, clearly not buying his explanation.

" I've heard of many yoga, but this is certainly a new one," she chuckled, shaking her head in bemusement.

"Well, why not try closing the door next time before doing this yoga?" With that ,

she left the room, still chuckling to herself.

With a mischievous glint in his eyes, he leaned in closer, his voice laced with playful sarcasm.

"Well, if you're quite finished enjoying my ' irresistible charm ' ," his lips quirking into a playful smirk,

"perhaps I can have my turn to change?"

I couldn't help but feel my cheeks flush with embarrassment. Attempting to conceal my flustered state, I averted my gaze, my heart racing as I felt the warmth of his proximity

"Um, yes..," I managed to stammer out, my voice betraying my nervousness.

Author's POV:-

After a while.

Meera hesitantly approached Aaryansh's mother, unsure whether she should ask permission or not.

"Aunty," she began tentatively,

"I was thinking of going to meet my friend..."

His mother interrupted her gently,

"Beta, you don't have to ask if you want to go anywhere. You can go anywhere you want to ,without asking me"

"Thank you, Aunty" Meera said gratefully, touched by her words.

"But," his mother continued

"there's one thing I don't like."

Confused, Meera asked, "What, aunty?"

"When will you start calling me maa?" His mother's voice softened with emotion.

"I've been waiting to hear those words from you."

Her words carried a depth of longing that resonated deeply within Meera.

She felt tears welling up in her eyes as the weight of those words sank in. It was the first time she had experienced such motherly affection. "I'm sorry, maa" she whispered, overwhelmed by the love and acceptance she felt.

Without hesitation, his mother pulled her into a warm embrace

"You are very emotional, beta," she remarked softly, her voice filled with concern. "Is there anything you want to share with me? Is there anything bothering you?"

Tears welled up in Meera's eyes as she struggled to find the words to express the tumultuous feelings churning within her. The offer of support and understanding from his mother was both comforting and overwhelming.

"No...Maa," she stammered, her voice choked with emotion. "It's just... everything feels so new, and... and overwhelming sometimes. But... but with you having here, it's... it's like finding a piece of home in a world that's still unfamiliar to me."

His mother's embrace tightened, and she gently brushed away the tears from her cheeks. "Beta, I understand," she murmured softly. "Moving into a new family, a new environment, it's bound to feel daunting. But remember, we're here for you, always. You're not alone in this journey. We'll navigate it together, as a family."

Her comforting words washed over Meera like a soothing balm, reassuring her that she had found not just a new family, but a source of strength and support in her.

"Thank you , maa" she whispers softly.

After 2 hours

Meera's POV:-

As I waited outside the Celestial cuisine, I noticed a familiar figure approaching, and as she drew closer, I recognized the mischievous glint in her eyes. With a playful swagger, she sauntered up to me, a smirk playing on her lips.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't my favorite person in the world," she said with a wink, giving me a once-over. "Looking as stunning as ever, I see. You must have been waiting for hours just to catch a glimpse of me."

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her cheekiness, but a smile tugged at the corners of my lips nonetheless. "Oh, please," I replied, feigning annoyance. "Don't flatter yourself too much. I was actually considering leaving until you showed up."

She laughed.

With that she pulled me into a hug .

As we embraced, she hugged me tightly, and I couldn't help but reciprocate with equal fervor. It was as if all the distance and time apart melted away in that one moment, leaving only the warmth of our friendship behind. With a chuckle, she pulled back, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Missed me, huh?" she teased, nudging me playfully.

I rolled my eyes, but couldn't hide the smile that spread across my face. "Of course not," I replied, trying to sound nonchalant. "I was just starting to enjoy the peace and quiet."

She laughed, seeing through my facade. "Sure you were," she said, giving me a knowing look. "But admit it, you're thrilled to have me back."

"Yeah yeah , if you're done t,hen shall we go inside?" I asked

"Why not sweetie?" she replied.

Author's POV:-

Meanwhile

"Who the fuck messed with this file?" he bellowed, his voice echoing through the corridor. His employees exchanged nervous glances, shrinking back in their seats, none daring to meet his gaze.

As he vented his frustration, his assistant, who had mistakenly misplaced the file, entered the room, his face pale with apprehension. "I-I'm sorry, sir," he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper. "It was my fault. I'll fix it right away."

Aaryansh's anger simmered as he fixed him with a steely glare. "Fix it? Fix it?" he repeated incredulously, his tone dripping with disdain. "Do you have any idea how important this file is? You've fucking jeopardized the entire project with your incompetence!"

The assistant wilted under his glare, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "I-I'll do better, sir," he murmured, his eyes brimming with tears.

Before Aaryansh could respond, Sid burst into the room, a wide grin plastered on his face. "Oh my goodness, Aaryansh, is it just me or is the temperature soaring in here?" he exclaimed, fanning himself dramatically

Aaryansh shot him a withering look,

"Can't you fucking see I'm dealing with a crisis here?" he snapped.

But Sid seemed unfazed by his mood, "Come on, Aaryansh, lighten up," he said,  "Life's too short to be so serious all the time."

Aaryansh gritted his teeth in frustration, knowing that arguing with him was futile.

Aaryansh fixed his assistant with a steely glare, his voice low and menacing. "You have until 5 p.m. to fix this mess," he warned, his tone leaving no room for negotiation. "If you fail, don't bother showing up tomorrow. Consider this as your final warning."

The assistant nodded frantically, his eyes wide with fear "Y-yes, sir," he stammered, his hands trembling as he hurried out of the room, determined to rectify his mistake before it was too late.

After a while

Sid entered Aaryansh's cabin with a mischievous grin, "Hey man , you seem a little fired up in here," he remarked casually, his tone light and teasing.

Aaryansh shot him a withering glare, his irritation evident as he rubbed his temples. "Sid, I swear, if you're here to make one of your terrible jokes, I'm not in the mood," he snapped, his patience wearing thin.

Undeterred by his sour mood, Sid chuckled, unfazed by his irritation. "Come on, lighten up, boss," he said with a grin. "They say laughter is the best medicine, and judging by your mood, you could use a dose or two."

Aaryansh let out an exasperated sigh, resisting the urge to roll his eyes.

"Well, I've got just the thing to cheer you up," he announced.

Aaryansh raised an eyebrow skeptically. "And what might that be?" he asked warily, already regretting asking.

Sid leaned in closer, a mischievous gleam in his eyes. "Let's go to celestial cuisine," he declared.

"Get lost." Aaryansh replied.

"Come on, you can't spend all your time cooped up in here," he argued, nudging Aaryansh playfully.

"Besides, a little break never hurt anyone"

"I said no" he replied.

But Sid wasn't about to give up that easily. With a mischievous twinkle in his eye, he launched into a series of increasingly ridiculous arguments and persuasive tactics, each one more outrageous than the last.

Finally, worn down by Sid's relentless persistence and infectious enthusiasm, Aaryansh begrudgingly agreed to accompany him
