16. Drenched in Rain

Author's POV:-

She turned around and saw him leaning against the wall, his gaze lingering on her, with both hands crossed and a mischievous glint in his eyes, as if he already knew she was coming.

Meeting his gaze, she hesitantly lowered her eyes, feeling nervous as she nodded slightly. "Sorry... for... disturbing..." she murmured hesitantly.

Raising one eyebrow, he started to come closer, his hands still crossed.

"Did I mention you're disturbing me?" he asked, advancing towards her.

With each step he took, she instinctively took small steps backward, creating distance between them. "Nahi... Par..." she stuttered, her voice trailing off nervously.

"Par?" he prompted, now very close to her, causing her to continue retreating.

"Wo... mera... matlab tha... ki..." she began, feeling increasingly nervous by his proximity.

"Ki?" he asked, now dangerously close to her close that her back was against the wall.

Unable to find the right words, she remained silent, her breath catching in her throat as she felt something stirring within her, something she couldn't quite decipher.

"Ki?" he repeated, his gaze locked on hers as he uncrossed his arms and placed one hand on the wall beside her.

"Aap... busy honge... isliye..." she stammered, her words faltering.

"Aapke liye hum kaise bhi samay nikal sakte hain. Biwi hain aap hamari, aapka pura hakk hai jab bhi chahna, yahan aana"he said softly yet firmly, his gaze unwavering.

Taken aback by his response, she looked up at him, only to find herself getting lost in his eyes.

His eyes possessed a depth capable of engulfing her entirely, speaking volumes without uttering a word. Each syllable he uttered resembled a melodious tune, orchestrating her heartbeat like a drum. Every aspect of him radiated perfection, from his captivating gaze to his soothing words, all contributing to an irresistible charm that drew her in effortlessly.

"Maaf kijiyega humein." he said softly, bringing her back to reality. Confusion clouded her mind. Why was he apologizing to her?

"Aap... maafi ...kyu maang rahein?" she asked hesitantly, her voice laced with bewilderment

"For yesterday's behavior" he explained, his gaze lingering on her.

She was taken aback. He was apologizing for something he wasn't even at fault for?

She looked into his eyes, which spoke volumes, filled with truth. Tears welled up in her eyes as he apologized for something he wasn't at fault for. Meanwhile her parents, who had abused her, taunted her, and tortured her, never once apologized or asked how she was feeling. And here was the person she had deceived, apologizing for something he wasn't even responsible for.

"Aap ro rahin hain?" his voice broke through. One hand, which had been on the wall beside her, now lifted her chin as she looked down, a tear escaping from her eye.

"Did I hurt you too much?" he asked, his worry evident. She shook her head in response.

"Jab aapne kuch kiya hi nahi, tab aap humse maafi kyun maang rahein?" she questioned, her teary eyes searching his. He gently wiped away her tears.

"I did. I did shout at you yesterday. You were not at fault, still." he admitted, his gaze filled with regret, unwavering.

"Aap itne acche kyun hain?" she asked, the words escaping her mouth unknowingly. He smiled at her words.

His smile warmed her heart.

"Aur aap itni bholi kyun hain?" he teased lightly, a soft smile playing on his lips. She furrowed her eyebrows slightly, her tear-strained eyes reflecting her confusion.

"Matlab?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.

"Nothing." he replied, his gaze soft.

The phone rang, interrupting their moment, and he closed his eyes in frustration.

Why does everyone have to intrude when he's talking with his wife?

She glanced towards the source of the disturbance.

"Let's go inside." he said, taking her hand and leading her indoors.

After a while, while he was on his call, his anger boiled over.

"Shut the fuck up and throw her out of this building." he shouted, making her flinch. She turned around to see him.

'He looks even hotter when he's angry'

Just as he was about to end the call, he paused. "It's me. Now you won't even talk to me?" the voice on the other end said to him.

'What the fuck, is she?' he thought, frustrated. Ignoring the person, he hung up the call frustratingly.

His gaze fell upon her, as she was curiously exploring his cabin, her innocent gaze darting around the room.

A notification chimed on his phone, he

checked it. It was a message from Riya.

PAAPI HAIN AAP! She replied

"Aap...busy ho..?" A soft voice reached him, and he looked up to find her already gazing at him.

"Aapke liye kabhi nahi." he replied, closing the distance between them.

"Wo...aapke..liye.." she began hesitantly, stepping back as he drew nearer.

"Aapke liye?" he prompted, drawing near until her back met the wall.

"I-i brought...something.." she finally managed, her nerves evident.

"And what's that?" he asked, intrigued.

She hesitantly withdrew her hand from behind her back, revealing a single red rose with a note in it

A smile tugged at the corner of his lips, his heart warmed by her sweet gesture. He took the rose from her trembling hand.

"Thank you." he said, his two words enough to make her heart flutter.

"Wese , ye kiss liye?" he asked, his voice breaking the silence.

"Wo..hume..laga aap humse naraaz hain..." she said softly, her voice barely audible as she looked down.

"Hum? Aur aapse naraaz?" he asked.

"Aapne ... Humse..kal baat nahi ki..." she said, but she meant to say something else. He didn't wake her up today.

A smile graced his lips.

"Didn't you find the note I left for you on the bedside table?" he asked, puzzling her.

She furrowed her brow, realizing she hadn't noticed any note from him. She had been too preoccupied searching for him.

Shaking her head in confusion, she admitted, "Nahi to..."

Before he could respond, the telephone interrupted again, aggravating him further. He closed his eyes briefly, frustrated by the interruptions during his quality time with his wife.

"Utha lijiye..... it might be important." she suggested.

"Nothing is more important than my wife." he declared, his words warming her heart.

The phone ceased ringing, and she couldn't help but feel butterflies in her stomach at his response.

"Wo... there's one more thing ......" She said, attempting to shift the conversation to divert her attention from the effect he had on her.

"And what's that?" He asked again, his curiosity piqued.

She took out a bouquet of six roses from her purse, four red and two white.

He watched her, completely taken aback by her sweet-cute and thoughtful gesture.

Although she had intended to offer him something to warm his heart, it was Riya's suggestion to give him red roses, fully aware of how much he hates them. But she knew that if she gave them to him, he was going to be the most happiest person alive in this world.

Before he could say anything else, the door opened with a thud, revealing Sid.

"Brot---" he began, entering, only to be surprised by the scene.

She was startled, while his frustration levels only seemed to rise as he distanced himself, stepping backwards.

"Pretty bhabhi!" He exclaimed, stepping further into the room.

"What are you doing here?" Aaryansh asked, his tone a little too loud.

"Woah woah, calm down, calm down. Let me greet my sister-in-law first." Sid responded casually.

"Shut up. There's a thing called 'knock.' Can't you knock before coming?" he said frustratingly.

"Since when did I start knocking?" Sid retorted.

"Exactly. That's why I'm saying you should 'knock' before barging in." he replied firmly.

Meanwhile, she observed their exchange.

"Hein?" Sid blurted out, clearly confused by his annoyance.

"Your meeting is lined up, sir, have you forgotten? The client is waiting. Are we going?" Sid inquired.

"Cancel it." he replied, dismissing him.

"Aayein?" He blurted out incredulously, unable to believe he's asking to cancel the meeting he had worked on for a whole month.

His phone rang, disrupting the silence

"Your phone is ringing, go pick it up." Aaryansh said, trying to usher him out of the place

"Mai to behera hun." Sid retorted with a sarcastic smile, and swiftly exited his cabin.

"I'll...be going now.." she said, causing him to furrow his brow.

"Why?" he asked, puzzled.

"Aapko...kaam...hoga" she replied, feeling a bit hesitant.

"I'll drop you." he said immediately, eager to spend more time with her.

"Par..." she began, but he interrupted.

"Let's go." he said firmly, taking her hand and leading her outside. He also took the bouquet she was holding for him.

They were in his car, heading towards his mansion as night had already fallen. The sky was dark, with heavy clouds looming ominously overhead. The air felt dense, carrying the promise of an approaching storm. In the distance, thunder rumbled, signaling the impending tempest. However, as he was driving, the car suddenly stalled, prompting him to come to a stop.

"Kya hua..?" she asked, concerned.

"Let me check." he replied, stepping out of the car to investigate the issue.

He stepped out of the car to inspect the issue, leaving her waiting inside. After a while, she grew concerned and joined him outside.

"What happened?" she asked, watching him closely as he examined the bonnet

Closing the hood, he shook his head. "Don't know." he replied, moving to check the tires. Upon inspection, he discovered a puncture in one of them.

"The tire is punctured." he said with a sigh.

"Oh.." she murmured sympathetically.

"I'll call for another car." he said, attempting to open the car door, only to find it locked. "Shit." he muttered, frustrated, as he realized the key and his phone were inside.

"What's wrong?" she asked, noticing his agitation.

"The key is inside the car, and it's locked now. My phone is in there." he explained, frustration evident in his voice

"You can use my phone.." she offered, extending it to him.

"Thank you.." he said, as he took the phone from her and dialed a number. While on his call, he ordered someone to send another car to pick them up

As a loud thunder rumbled overhead making her flinch, she instinctively drew closer, clutching his shirt lightly from behind. Sensing her unease, he soon ended the call and turned to her, holding her hand gently.

"Aap thik hain?" he asked, concern evident in his voice.

But soon, heavy rain began to pour down, adding to their predicament.

In the midst of a deserted road, with no cars or pedestrians in sight, they found themselves enveloped by the pouring rain. The sound of the raindrops echoed in the silence around them.

Her clothes clinging to her body, she felt a rush of nervousness coursing through her veins. As the rain soaked through her attire, a hint of her waistline became visible beneath the drenched fabric, adding to the allure of the moment.

Glancing up at him, she found herself captivated by the intensity in his eyes.

He sensed her apprehension and couldn't resist teasing her, his playful grin lighting up his face. With a gentle tug, he pulled her closer, his touch sending a jolt of electricity through her body.

"Feeling a bit scared?" he teased, his voice low and husky, sending a shiver down her spine.

She bit her lip, a nervous flutter coursing through her as she shook her head in response. Her heart racing at his closeness, the sound of the rain mingling with the quickening beat.

"Then?" he asked, pulling her even closer by her waist, their bodies now almost touching. The warmth of his touch against her drenched skin sent a surge of electricity through her.

She looked down, her hair now fully drenched, strands of water dripping from her neck, captivating him even more.

He gently reached out, brushing aside a wet strand of her hair, his touch warm yet firm, filled with intensity. As his hand traced the line of her jaw, she couldn't help but shiver at the sensation, her breath catching in her throat

He was captivated by the sight, losing himself in the moment as the rain poured down around them. With a gentle yet firm touch, he lifted her chin, pulling her even closer by her waist. She gasped, feeling somewhat overwhelmed by his proximity as their faces were now just inches apart.

Just as he leaned in closer, she suddenly came to her senses and looked away, attempting to step back. But before she could move, he swiftly caught her wrist, twisting it behind her back with a firm yet gentle grip. His other hand instinctively moved to her neck, drawing her even closer, their bodies pressed together.

Water dripped from both of them as the intensity between them grew.

With their lips now mere inches apart, her breath caught in her throat, anticipation hanging heavy in the air.
