19. Charming husband

Author's POV:-

Finally, he began to stir. As he did, she gently removed his hand from her waist and quickly stood up. Meanwhile, he woke and sat on the bed innocently,

his innocent façade completely fooling her. A smile tugged at the corner of her lips as she observed him.

He glanced at her, his gaze unwavering

"Why are your cheeks so red?" he teased lightly, his eyes twinkling with mischief. However, she appeared lost in her thoughts, captivated by his features and undeniable charm, her gaze fixated on him with a small smile gracing her lips.

Raising an eyebrow, a smirk played at his lips as he got off from the bed and closed the distance between them.

"Too handsome, aren't I?" he teased, snapping her back to reality. Her cheeks flushed  deeper as she stumbled over her words, stepping back involuntarily as he approached, his presence both captivating and intimidating.

"Uh--I-i was ... thinking.....something..." she murmured nervously, her back now against the wall, her heart beating fast.

"Thinking how charming your husband is?" he continued as he casually leaned in, one hand bracing against the wall beside her.

Her eyes widened as she shook her head vigorously, her nervousness visible.

A knowing smile crept onto his lips as he observed her, relishing the effect he had on her as her cheeks turned a deeper shade of crimson.

The urge to kiss her right now was nearly unbearable, making it difficult for him to resist.

With a twinkle in his eyes, he leaned in while she was looking down, and gently planted a kiss on her cheek. Her eyes widened as she felt his lips brushed against her skin, her breath catching in her throat, and her heart fluttering.

"Morning, biwi" he whispered softly, his voice barely audible over the sound of her racing heart. Her cheeks flushed crimson, a rosy hue spreading across her face as she struggled to process what did happen.

A smirk appeared on his lips as he inquired, "Aap thik hain?" while she remained lost in her thoughts, a smile gracing his lips as he observed her still processing the moment.

"I'll get going then." he said casually, the smile lingering on his lips as he left to freshen up, leaving her in a state of shock.

After getting ready, she descended the stairs and found Riya and Advay casually pulling each other's hair, while Mom instructed something to the servants, looking strict for the first time.

Glancing around for any signs of him, she found him nowhere in sight.

As she moved to approach his mother, Riya and Advay came running towards her, engaged in an argument.

"Get lost! I said I'm my bhabhi's favorite. Don't interfere between us." Riya exclaimed to Advay, who stuck his tongue out.

"Keep dreaming! I'm my bhabhi's favorite. Bhabhi, tell her I'm your favorite naa??" Advay countered.

Amused by their banter, she couldn't help but smile.

"Oh, hello?? When did you become my bhabhi's favorite? Thodi pii wii li kya subah-subah?? Chaliye , hatiye , I'm bhabhi's favorite." Riya said, grabbing her hand, while Advay also held onto her.

"Bhabhi, tell her I'm your favorite!!" Advay pleaded, Riya, growing more agitated, mimicked him with exaggerated gestures. "~"

"I'm HER FAVOURITE!" Riya exclaimed, pulling Meera towards her by the wrist, while Advay pulled her towards his side, turning it into a tug-of-war, leaving her feel overwhelmed.

She attempted to interject,"Rukiye..." but Advay and Riya simultaneously exclaimed,

"SHE'S MY BHABHI!!"

"What the heck are you both doing?" a voice boomed from behind, making them all flinch hard at the sharpness and volume. They turned to see him standing there, his gaze piercing through Riya's and Advay's souls. They gulped nervously, intimidated by his stern look.

Meanwhile, Meera's cheeks flushed red as she recalled what had happened earlier, with both of them still holding her hand.

He made his way towards her, his gaze still intimidating Riya and Advay. Taking Meera's hand, he pulled her towards his side, glaring at them, visibly scaring the hell out of them.

"Did it hurt?" he asked her, holding her head gently, while she shook her head immediately, "Nahi, nahii"

"Hello? Wait wait, Aap kahaan ghus rahein chalti gaari mein?" Riya said casually, forgetting his intimidating stare, earning a smack on her head from Advay

Riya rubbed her head

"Hello? Maara kaise aapne!?" she exclaimed, attempting to smack Advay's head, but he dodged and laughed, But his laughter was short-lived as she punched him in his stomach.

"Ouch!" Advay exclaimed, rubbing his stomach in pain.

"ENOUGH!" His voice boomed, causing everyone to flinch and fall silent, their eyes downcast in fear.

"What's happening here?" His mother approached from behind, while Riya and Advay exchanged glances.

"Acha beta .. Your Grandfather is coming tomorrow, so Advay..." She began, but Advay blurted out,

"What? Dadaji? Kal?"

"Yes." his father approached them from behind. "He's coming tomorrow. So no more mischief from tomorrow onwards." he said sternly.

Advay closed his eyes briefly, nodding in acknowledgment. His father then turned to Aaryansh, but before he could say anything, Aaryansh clenched his fists and abruptly left from there, pulling her along with him.

Riya and Advay exchanged worried glances before quickly following behind.

"Wait, Bhai, hum bhi hain!" Riya exclaimed, hurrying after them.

His father looked down, a pained expression crossing his face.

"Chinta matt kijiye... Kabhi na kabhi wo aapko maaf jarur kardega.. " Naina reassured, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"He won't. I know him. It's not his fault.

It was my fault.. It all happened because of me. He endured so much because of my actions." his father confessed, tears welling up in his eyes, as well as Naina's.

"Yes. It all happened because of you.

If you hadn't done that, my child wouldn't have had to endure all that.

You are to blame. You are the reason he is like this. You made him suffer.

Humein to ye tak bhi nahi pata kya kya sahi hoga usne. Sab aapki wajah se hua,

If you wouldn't have done that, my son wouldn't had to go through so much pain in his childhood.

Kyun nahi do baar socha apne waisa karne se pehle?

Kyun mere bete ki zindagi barbaad kardi thi? Kyun ?? Kyun kia apne ??" She cried as she recalled her son's childhood, her voice trembling with emotion.

"Aapko pata hai? Usne kabhi mujhse ek baar bhi shikayat nahi ki kisi chiz ki. Sabkuch usne jhela, maa hote hue bhi uski mai kuch nahi kar paayii..

Apne... Apne.. hi.. bete . Ko nahi...sambhal... Paayi.."

Her voice choked with emotion as tears streamed down her face.

"Itni....choti..u-umar mai u-usne k-kaise..."Her voice trailed off, choked with emotion. A tear escaped from Rajveer's eyes as he remembered his son's dreadful past, caused by him. Hastily, he wiped away his tears upon noticing Naina, gesturing to a servant to bring her a glass of water before discreetly motioning for all the guards and servants to leave from there.

Approaching Naina, who had slumped onto the couch, he handed her the glass of water as tears continued to flow down her cheeks.

"W-wo mujhe ...kabhi..k-kabhi nahi b-batata kuch...." She choked out between sobs

"Mai .. k-kitni.. buri m-maa hu.."

"Mai uski m-maa kehlane .. ke laayak..hi...n-nahi.." she lamented, while Rajveer gently helped her drink the water, his own eyes moist with tears.

After a moment, composing herself, she spoke again. "He... he loves... Meera..." she revealed, surprising Rajveer.

"I can feel ... He loves her." she continued with a smile.

"Not just him, anyone could fall for her. She embodies everything I ever wished for in a daughter-in-law. That day, when he learned about the replacement,

I feared he would do something drastic, especially to her. But he remained silent.

From the moment she arrived, Not once he raise his voice at her.

Despite his aversion to betrayal, he never displayed anger towards her for deceiving him.

Even though he never leaves the person who deceives him, making their life no less than hell, which he is also doing to you.

That's when I realized he's falling for her. How could he even not when she's so pure and gentle, I never thought I'd find someone like her in this generation. She possesses everything I wished for in a daughter-in-law. I'll be forever grateful to her for bringing my son back to life.

In her presence, he forgets all his worries, his anger, all his frustrations.

The man whose eyes just strike fear in everyone else, only radiates love when he looks at her."

A gentle smile formed on Rajveer's lips.

At night

In the dimly lit room, two figures sat bound to chairs, their faces contorted with fear and pain, their bodies bearing the signs of brutal injuries.

A desperate voice broke the silence,

"Aar...aaryansh beta....

L-listen to us. I'm... I'm telling .....you the truth. Meera, she.. s-she's  the reason Aisha left. She... manipulated her into ....running away, because.. because...she .. s-she wanted to marry you. She... wanted..... your money.

She's.. s-she's nothing but a gold digger... Please ...believe—"

"NOT A WORD AGAINST MY WIFE!"

His voice thundered through the room, causing them to flinch and jump in their seats.

"You seem to have a death wish." he growled, fury evident in his clenched fists and intense gaze. "Well , Let's make it come true then."

On the other hand

After a while

Riya and Advay, who were sitting beside Meera, playfully smacking and dodging each other, while she was engrossed on her laptop.

Suddenly, Riya's voice cut through the air.

"Uhuh, I'm bored" she exclaimed, and Advay nodded in agreement, expressing the same sentiment.

She glanced up from her laptop, about to say something, when an idea sparked in Riya's mind.

"Bhabhiii, let's go play badminton!" she suggested eagerly, with a twinkle in her eyes.

She smiled at the suggestion, asking, "Abhi?"

Riya nodded vigorously.

"Haan bhabhii pleaseeee" she pleaded.

Advay also chimed in, "Yes bhabhii, let's play badminton!"

She couldn't resist their enthusiasm. "Okay" she agreed.

"Yay!" Riya exclaimed, grabbing Meera's hand. The trio stood up to leave when a voice came from behind.

"Kahaan jaa rahe sab?" Naina asked , approaching them with a smile

"To play badminton! Come join us, maa" Riya said, leading Meera outside, with Advay tagging along.

Naina smiled warmly as she happily joined them.

Naina watched her two children squabble over who would play first, their playful banter reminiscent of their younger days.

"I WILL PLAY FIRST!" they both exclaimed simultaneously, causing Meera to hurriedly intervene.

"Please Don't fight.. You both play first, and I'll join you later.." Meera suggested, hoping to diffuse the situation.

But Riya and Advay both exclaimed in unison, "NOO!!" startling Meera, before she could say anything else Naina intervened from behind,

"Advay, let Riya play first, choti hai wo."

"Do saal ka baccha bhi isse bada ho." Advay grumbled under his breath.

Riya caught his murmured comment and turned to him with a dangerous look.

"Kya kaha aapne?" she demanded, prompting him to playfully smack her head before storming off to sit beside Naina, wearing an upset expression.

Naina smiled and affectionately patted his head as Riya and Meera continued playing.

As Riya and Meera played enthusiastically, hitting the shuttlecock back and forth without missing a beat, Advay and Naina cheered them on,

thoroughly enjoying the spectacle. Just then, Riya delivered a particularly high shot, causing her to retreat rapidly to return it. However, in her haste, she stumbled over her own foot as she turned around.

Aaryansh, who was coming from behind,  instinctively reached out and caught her by the waist. In that split second, her lips accidentally brushed against his cheek, leaving them both momentarily surprised.

Her eyes widened as she realized what had happened, while a knowing smile crept onto his lips as he sensed her nervousness.

"Aur biwi, sabke saamne romance?"he teased her with a smirk.
